AB-1.2 USB DAC

AB-1.2 consists of an Analog Board and a USB-I2S Module. Everything is fully assembled, boxed and tested. Use AB-1.2 as a stand-alone Hi-Fi USB DAC or as a development platform for the USB-I2S Module. The AB-1.2 kit is now available!

The AB-1.2 uses the AK4430 DAC chip and high-quality crystal oscillators from Golledge. AB-1.2 includes all the analog functions for audio playback. It is designed to be a fully functional and good sounding board. You may use the AB-1.2 as is. It is powered by USB VBUS. The AKM4430 DAC pumps its own negative supply. It is built with the ADP151 low-noise regulator from Analog Devices. There is room to install two discrete LDOs designed by Demian and Oneoclock.

Everybody is welcome and encouraged to start out with this kit and modify it with their favourite power / DAC / IVC etc.

AB-1.2 includes:

• One USB-I2S Module plugged into the Analog Board
• Golledge high-quality XOs at 22.5792 and 24.576MHz
• Asahi Kasei AKM4430 DAC
• Low-noise 3.3V LDOs by Demain and Oneoclock, or ADP151
• RCA (phono) stereo output
• Headers for alternative power supply designs
• Unpopulated connectors for RS232, LCD etc.
• Bootloader buttons so you don't have to pop open the box to reprogram the MCU
• You must provide an USB 2.0 mini-B cable. It is not included.
